The OPRS Foundation launched the Keeping the Promise Campaign, which ran through 1999 and raised $17.9 million.

The Keeping the Promise Campaign launched in 1996. By the end of the campaign’s first year, it had reached 76% of its goal and recruited over 100 volunteers to serve. When the campaign ended in 1999, it had reached $17.9 million –159% of the original $11.5 million goal.

 

            The totals raised by the end of the campaign included:

  • $4.2 million at Breckenridge Village that included 3 newly-established endowments
  • 1996 - Keeping the Promise$1.1 million at Dorothy Love including 1 program-level endowment
  • $2 million at Llanfair with 9 endowments
  • $3.6 million at Mount Pleasant with 18 endowments
  • $1.2 million at Park Vista with 5 endowments
  • $1.9 million at Rockynol with 14 endowments
  • $1.9 million at Swan Creek with 7 endowments
  • $1.5 million at Westminster-Thurber with three endowments.

 

An overwhelming 68% of the individual donations were designated for life care (455 of the 668 gifts), which accounted for 77% of the total given ($13.1 out of $17.9 million).
