In May of 2008, the OPRS Board of Trustees approved an agreement to acquire Cape May from Westover Senior Services, a not-for-profit organization in Hamilton, Ohio. Cape May consisted of 27 ranch-style villas at the time, and was zoned to accommodate villa homes, apartments, assisted living units and a community center. OPRS planned to operate Cape May as a satellite of Mount Pleasant Retirement Village in Monroe, so that Cape May residents would have priority access to Mount Pleasant’s assisted living and health care centers.
