While construction schedules are frequently adjusted, it is rare for projects to be a full year ahead of where they planned to be. But donor enthusiasm for the Mary H. Kittredge Chapel at Mount Pleasant was so strong that the groundbreaking was able to move forward one full year ahead of schedule! This passionate support seemed a tribute to the late Mary Kittredge, whose quiet generosity had blessed Mount Pleasant for years.

            The chapel contains a balcony and moveable seating for 175 people, as well as ample room for choirs, congregants sound equipment and acoustics. Verla McClure provided the naming gift for the large stained glass windows, and a group of residents led by Ted Karchner worked with contractors on the installment.
